Sensing and Biology

About

The Sensing & Biology group joins a group of researchers from the physical and biological sciences in order to develop sensing tools for problems encountered (mainly, at this stage) in agriculture and post-harvest management. The Sensing & Biology group is responsible for the research line "Intelligent Sensing in Biology".

The main areas of research include:

  • Non destructive determination of fruit and vegetable internal quality properties through diffuse reflectance spectroscopy
  • Early determination of tree physiopathologies through optical methods
  • Early detection of scald through fluorescence measurements
